TEAMS
We are proud to have clear pathways.
At each age, we focus on different elements of the player's development, always with the next step in mind.
In 2024/25 we have the following teams;
Foundation Phase: U5, U6, U7, U8, U9, U10, U11, U12
Youth Development Phase: U13, U14, U15, U16, U17, U18
Professional Development Phase: U17, U18, U19, U20, U21s, U23, Gulf United B and The First Team.
FIRST TEAM
The pinnacle of the club.
The First Team play in a professional team in UAE Division One. The First Team is the first taste of professional football for most of our players. It is the highest level at our club but just the beginning of another pathway for our talented players.
GULF UNITED 'B'
This team sits directly under the First Team
The B Team play in UAE Division Three. Players in this team travel from all around the world to join this full-time residential programme and take their first step into the professional game. We prepare players for the next level.
U21/U23
Preparation is key.
These squads are for players who want to really kick on. At this level, we expect a high level of technical ability and desire. This team is knocking on the door of the First Team. Players from the U23 squad can rise to the First Team with a string of good performances.
U17/ U18/ u19
This team is the players is for our young players who are almost ready for the next step.
These squads will demand the same levels of seriousness and professionalism as the First Team. They will be pushed hard to see how much they want to make it to the next level.
U15/U16
What do we look for in a Gulf United Player at these age groups?
A Gulf United player will already have the key fundamental technical skills. We will continue improving the technical skillsets of our players, whilst focusing on the tactical and physical elements of the game that will be essential when they are ready to join the senior squads.
U13/U14
These squads are at a key developmental age. These are the age groups where Gulf United players improve dramatically if they show the right attitude. Training habits formed at this age tend to foreshadow the rest of their footballing career. Focus will be on developing key technical skillsets and creating an awareness of the ways to effect the game off the ball as well as on.
U10/U11/U12
We work on key fundamental skills as the players start to understand their roles as individuals and members of the team.
A Gulf United player will begin to learn how their actions affect the game as a whole. They will start to understand the importance of decision making in football, and that every match is full of thousands of individual decisions. They will become more tactically aware as well as constant technical improvement.
U5/U6/U7/U8/U9
These teams is about inspiring a passion for the game in the young players. They should love every session and match. We ensure that training is fun and engaging whilst learning happens every single time!
